On Friday, the Barry County Sheriff's Department arrested Bobby L. Burdiss, 22, of Cassville, in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Wheaton on May 14. The Cassville Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted with the arrest.
Last Thursday, after 11 p.m., a male suspect robbed the Fastrip convenience store in Wheaton by displaying a weapon in his waistband. The suspect then left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Barry County Sheriff's Department Detectives Doug Henry and Brian Martin secured and processed the scene after the robbery. On Friday, Henry and Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly went over a photo line-up with the convenience store clerk.
After further investigation, Burdiss was apprehended without incident at his home on Coon Drive in Cassville. He is being held at the Barry County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
According to the sheriff's department, Burdiss is also allegedly involved in several auto thefts that have occurred in the county over the last week.
