Mrs. Ruth Anna Greve, 85, of Verona, Missouri, formerly of Morris, Ill., passed away at 9:11 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009. She was born April 2, 1924 in Morris, Ill., the daughter of Vernon and Ethel (Claypool) Johnson. She was united in marriage to Hermannes Greve on April 7, 1951, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 2006.

Ruth was a retired cafeteria worker at St. Vincent's Hospital in Monett. She was a member of the McDowell Community Church near Verona and a former member of the Morris Methodist Church.

Ruth is survived by one daughter: Mary Banks, of Verona, Missouri; one brother: Donald Johnson, of Seneca, Ill.; three sisters: Julia Thompson, of Normal, Ill., Pearl Laing, of Grand Chain, Ill.; and Charlotte Berkland, of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Maybella Fight.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Sample Cemetery in Morris, Ill., with Rev. Diane Gillham officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009, from 7 till 8 p.m. at the Morris Methodist Church in Morris, Ill.
