Ending the baseball game in the sixth inning due to the 10-run rule, the McDonald County Mustangs defeated the Monett Cubs 13-2 Friday in a non-conference contest at Monett North Park.
Monett now sports a record of four wins against three losses.
The visitors took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning, but Monett tied the game in the bottom half.
With one out, Colten Phillips was hit by a pitch and Kyle Meyer reached with a bunt single. With two away, Michael Roberts laced a single to score both runners.
McDonald County then took command. The Mustangs scored four runs in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the sixth.
Jesse Bremer was the losing pitcher.
In the junior varsity game, Monett's jayvees came away with a 6-5 victory. Carlin Ballay was the winner hurler.
The Monett Cubs are next in action tomorrow at home versus Cassville in a Big 8 Conference encounter.
