Cecelia was a cook for Purdy Schools and Rhea's Diner in Purdy and retired from Sarajo in Pierce City. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie, Ladies Aide Stones Prairie, and Helping Hands Extension Club.
She is survived by one daughter: Nadine Obermann, of Monett; one son: Maynard (Bud) and wife, Ruby Saloga, of Carthage, Missouri; one brother: Oscar Schad, of Purdy; one sister: Irene Murray, of the state of Arkansas; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie, Purdy, with Pastor Philip Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Stones Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Memorials may be given to Freistatt Lutheran radio broadcast fund or St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie in care of the funeral home.
