Cubs Netters Win Bolivar Tournament

With 28 points, the Monett Cubs tennis team captured first place yesterday in the Bolivar Tournament.

Bolivar finished second with 25 points. Other teams competing were Clinton and Reeds Spring.

Monett had five singles champions and one doubles champ in the event.

Singles results for the Cubs:

Sean Medlin, first place, defeating Paul Henry of Clinton 8-0, Stephe Norman of Bolivar 8-1, and Brighton Ham of Reeds Spring 8-4.

Johannes Eisenhardt, first place, defeating Alex Jones of Clinton 8-0, Kyle Shoemaker of Bolivar 8-5, and Casey Callison of Reeds Spring 8-5.

Colt Moller, first place, defeating James Glasscock of Clinton 8-0, Auggie Viewberry of Bolivar 8-1, and Chris Schultz of Reeds Spring 8-4.

Drew Williams, first place, defeating Andy Skaggs of Clinton 8-1, Eli Samek of Bolivar 8-6, and Shea Smith of Reeds Springs 8-0.

Al Dohmen, first place, defeating Casey Wetzel of Clinton 8-4, Kyle Bolton of Bolivar 8-3, and Robbie Slaton of Reeds Springs 8-4.

Michael Kean, second place, defeating Nathan Suthoff of Clinton 8-1 and Charles Blum of Reeds Spring 8-4, and losing to Trevor Sparks of Bolivar 6-8.

Taylor Petersen, second place, defeating Jake Barr of Clinton 8-3 and Kyle Kurz of Reeds Spring 8-0, and losing to Landon Kirlin of Bolivar 6-8.

Mike Barnes, third place, defeating Matt Palikij of Reeds Spring 8-4, and losing to Taylor Spackler of Clinton 4-8 and Brantley Scott of Bolivar 3-8.

Doubles results for Monett:

Petersen and Barnes, first place, defeating Kirlin and Scott of Bolivar 8-2 and Slaton and Palikij of Reeds Spring 8-1, and losing to Spackler and Nolan Giron of Clinton 6-8.

Moller and Eisenhardt, second place, defeating Henry and Glasscock of Clinton 8-3 and Shoemaker and Viewberry of Bolivar 8-4, and losing to Ham and Callison of Reeds Spring 7-9.

Kean and Williams, second place, defeating Skaggs and Suthoff of Clinton 8-2 and Schultz and Blum of Reeds Spring 8-4, and losing to Norman and Samek of Bolivar 3-8.

Medlin and Dohmen, second place, defeating Wetzel and Barr of Clinton 8-4 and Smith and Kurz of Reeds Spring 8-1, and losing to Sparks and Bolton of Bolivar 7-9.

Monett is next in action today at home versus Reeds Spring.
