One person was killed and another person was injured in a pair of bi-county traffic crashes yesterday and today.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued the following reports:
Danny Carman, 62, of Aurora, one of the drivers, was killed yesterday in a two-vehicle traffic wreck two miles east of Wheaton on Route W in Barry County at 7:50 p.m.
Carman was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Jim Fohn. The body was taken to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Bobby Elliott, 57, of Jay, Okla., was the other motorist.
The fatality occurred when the eastbound GMC Jimmy driven by Carman crossed the center line and struck the westbound Mack truck driven by Elliott head on.
Investigating the crash was Trooper Tim Barrett.
A Wentworth man was hurt in a one-vehicle wreck a mile and a half northwest of Monett on Lawrence County Farm Road 2220 at 12:39 a.m. today.
Jacob Hartel, 20, the driver, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Cox Monett Hospital.
The crash occurred when the eastbound Dodge driven by Hartel ran off the road, struck a utility pole and overturned.
Investigating the wreck was Trooper Darren Call.
