In the first golf match of the season for the Monett Cubs, the Cubs tied for first place with the Cassville Wildcats in a four-team meet at Windmill Ridge Golf Course in Monett yesterday.
Both the Cubs and Cassville had team scores of 178. Other teams and scores were Seneca 211 and Lamar 239. The top four individual scores were added to determine the team score.
Jacob Fair, a freshman for Monett, was the meet medalist, shooting a three-over-par 38 for the afternoon.
Other results for the Cubs were Kennon Cox 44, Devin Steward 46, Travis Thompson 50 and Avery Evans 52.
Evan White was the top golfer for Cassville, shooting a 42.
Other Cassville results were Taylor Vanzandt 44, Justin Mills 45, and Parker Stumpff and Colby Reavis 47.
Seneca's top golfer was Steven Adams with a 45 score. Lamar's top golfer was Jake Waggoner with a 56 score.
In junior varsity action, the Cubs jayvees had a score of 262. individual results were Jacob Barker 47, Avery Evans 49, Geoff Bowsher 52, Drew Triplett 55 and Tyler Webb 59.
Monett is next slated to be in action tomorrow in the Neosho Tournament.
