Absentee voting for the upcoming April 7 general election will continue at the Barry County Clerk's Office in Cassville and the Lawrence County Clerk's Office in Mt. Vernon through Monday, April 6. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Both county clerk's offices will also be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 4. The Barry County clerk's office is located in the historic Barry County Courthouse in Cassville, and the Lawrence County clerk's office is located in the old Courthouse as well.
Residents unable to vote in person may request an absentee ballot by mail. These requests must be submitted in writing no later than Wednesday, April 1.
Written requests should include: name; physical address; mailing address; date of birth; last four digits of Social Security number; phone number; reason for voting absentee; and signature. Area citizens that voters must present one form of information to vote. A driver's license or a voter registration card are examples of accepted identification.
