William Fred Cooper, 90, of Shell Knob, died March 21, 2009, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon.
Mr. Cooper was born March 14, 1919, in Shell Knob, the son of Charley and Susie Call Cooper. He was a 1940 graduate of Cassville High School. He was retired from McDonald Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, Calif., and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He married Lillian Cothran on March 23, 1942, in the state of California, and she preceded him in death in 1986.
Survivors include: one sister, Opal Wilson, of Shell Knob; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Leotha Cooper, Leora Cooper and Gladys Cooper; and two brothers, Warren Cooper and Velmer Cooper.
Graveside services with military honors will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, March 25, at Painter Cemetery in Shell Knob with Carroll Williamson, pastor, officiating under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Shell Knob.
