Relay for Life teams plan fundraisers

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Monett has set dates for a number of fundraisers that will be held during the months of March and April. The various money-making events are highlighted below.

A baked potato dinner will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Reavisville Baptist Churc south of Aurora on Highway TT. A $5 donation includes a huge baked potato and all the fixings with dessert and a drink.

Easter baskets are available for sale through April 10. The six-inch baskets are filled with candy and toys and can be purchased for $6. To order one, call Beth Luebbering at 236-3969 or beth.luebbering@tyson.com.

A buddy crappie fishing tournament will be held Saturday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The tournament will start at Bridgeport Landing at Cape Fair. There is a $30 entry fee to participate. For more information or to register for the tournament, call 417-723-8220 or 417-229-1001.

Antiquities Photographs will be taken on April 3 and 4 at the First United Methodist Church in Monett. No sitting fee will be charged and 10x13 photos can be purchased for only $10. The Monett Elementary Relay for Life team will sponsor a flea market on Saturday, April 4 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the elementary campus lower level parking lot. Area residents can reserve a space to sell at the flea market for $25. For more information or to reserve booth space, contact Becky Potter at bpotter@monett.k12.mo.us by Friday, March 20.

Reavisville First Baptist Church's Relay for Life teams are selling "I Hate Cancer" T-shirts for $10 each. A variety of sizes and colors are available. To order, contact Lynda Painter at 235-9803 or Rick Painter at 235-9870 or rick324@centurytel.net.

The Tyson's Crowin' for a Cure are selling a variety of cancer awareness items including bracelets, window stickers and cookbooks.
