Boys basketball teams from Pierce City, Southwest, and Purdy, as well as the Purdy girls logged area victories Friday night.
Pierce City's boys grabbed a 35-23 lead by intermission enroute to besting Liberal in a Spring River Valley Conference outing, 74-54.
Wayne Sooter led Pierce City to the win with 26 points. Also in double figures were Dietrick Sooter with 15 points and Jared Barchak with 13 points.
Southwest's boys took command over Exeter by out-pointed Exeter 18-4 in the second stanza and went on to win the Ozark 7 Conference encounter, 67-21.
Levi Roberts poured in 28 points for Southwest. Ryan Odenbrett had six points for Exeter.
Purdy's boys came from behind in the fourth quarter by out-scoring Verona 18-8 and take a 52-45 Ozark 7 Conference win.
Blake Williams tossed in 23 points for Purdy and Mason Roller added 15 points. Tyler May tallied 15 points for Verona.
The Purdy girls out-pointed Verona 8-3 in the third quarter to come from behind and went on to prevail, 37-33, in an Ozark 7 contest.
Addy Roller led Purdy in scoring with 14 points. Beth Bigham had 13 points for Verona.
East Newton, trailing Wheaton 22-25 at the half, out-pointed Wheaton 35-22 in the second half to win the non-conference outing, 57-47.
Blake Dilbeck had 14 points for Wheaton.
