John Bonar Moore, 88, of Marionville, died at 6:45 p.m. February 27 at Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville.
Mr. Moore was born July 3, 1920, in Ozark, Arkansas, the son of John and Mary Bonar Moore. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a school teacher and a member of the First Christian Church in Aurora. He was active in Cub Scouts and a member of the Missouri State Teacher's Association. He was former mayor of Verona.
He married Marjorie Glendenning in 1942, and she preceded him in death in 1986. He married Doris Williams in Springfield on December 17, 1987, and she preceded him in death May 2, 2005.
Survivors include three sons, John Moore, of Mountain View, California, Don Moore, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Robert Moore, of Blue Springs; one step-daughter, Darla Hodge, of Hartwell, Georgia; two step-sons, Dale Williams, of San Destin, Florida, and Sherman Williams, of Aurora; one sister, Mary Noice, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one step-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at the First Christian Church in Aurora under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home of Aurora.
