Sharon Kay Walker, 67, of Mt. Vernon, died at 9:50 p.m. March 2 at her home.
Mrs. Walker was born May 20, 1941, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Armel Lee and Clara Wooley Samuels. She was a 1958 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and was retired after 33 years as a licensed practical nurse at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of American Legion Post 137 in Mt. Vernon.
She married Robert G. "Bob" Walker on April 11, 1980, in Mt. Vernon, and he survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Tommy Samuels, of Miller, and Randy Haddock, in Japan; two step-daughters, Judy Grimes, of Beaumont, California, and Vicki Lozano, of Plano, Texas; one step-son, Steve Flores, of Downing, California; two sisters, Dorothy Patrick, of Springfield, and Barbara Samuels, of Tucson, Arizona; one brother, Bobby Samuels, of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Daughtrey; and one brother, James Samuels.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 9 at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Jack Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at the funeral home.
