Mr. Martin was born Feb. 14, 1941, in Stella, the son of Carl Dane Martin Sr. and Martha Haddock Martin. He was an Army veteran. He was a master journeyman machinist, worked as a police officer for 24 years, was past owner of St. Louis Mines in Washington and was publisher of Chips Magazine. He was an ordained minister and a member of the Amateur Archeologist Association.
He married Mary Bryant on Aug. 17, 1970, in Marysville, Washington, and she survives.
Survivors include: two sons, Carl Martin III, of Crane, and Matthew Martin, of Exeter; one brother, Timothy Martin, of Marysville, Washington; two sisters, Nadine Wallace, of Snohomish, Washington, and Katherine Clark, of Pomeroy, Washington; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at the family farm in Greasy Creek Hollow at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7 with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating.
Cremation was under the direction of White Funeral Home, of Cassville.
