Fred Lakey

Frederick Dale "Fred" Lakey, 54, of Washburn, died March 4 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas.

Mr. Lakey was born Aug. 11, 1954, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Eugene and Ella Beede Lakey. He was a graduate of Southwest High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washburn.

He married Karla Schell on Dec. 7, 1973, and she survives.

Additional survivors include: three daughters, Stacey Lakey, Heather Lakey and Amanda Serrano, all of Washburn; one brother, Sonny Lakey, of Cassville; four sisters, Druzella Rivera, Eupha Gaylen and Nina Giddings, all of Cassville, and Gloria Hayworth, of Washburn; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Angel, and one brother, Herschel Lakey.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 9 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville with Rev. Glenn Erwin officiating. Burial will be in Washburn Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at the funeral home.
