Maurice Beck

Maurice Ivan "Poppy" Beck, 68, of Cassville, died March 8, 2009, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield.

Mr. Beck was born Aug. 9, 1940, in Cassville, the son of Erskin "Bud" and Thelma Chappell Beck. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Flat Creek Road District and a Baptist.

Survivors include: two daughters, Donna Smith, of Cassville, and Dana Jagger, of Cynthiana, Ky.; one brother, Glenn Beck, of Pineville; three sisters, Naomi Patrick, of Rockyford, Colo., Wilma Harrison, of Mulberry, Ark., and Shirley Todd, of Bentonville, Ark.; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bennett and Ray Beck, and five sisters, Ada Gaddy, Georgia Johnson, Marie Shelley, Norma Loveland and Hazel Miller.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 13 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial will be in Horner Cemetery in Cassville.
