Scammers are experts at committing their illegal deeds, and a local couple were recently hit in the feels when someone alleging to be their grandson called and told them he was imprisoned in a foreign country and needed bail money. “The grandmother was convinced this was her grandson,” said Donna Beckett, vice president and chief operating officer at Community National Bank in Monett. “She said he begged her not to tell his mom and dad.”...
