One killed in PC crash

A Granby man was killed in a single-vehicle crash at 2:54 p.m. Dec. 5 on Highway 39 about four miles north of Pierce City. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, Ronald L. Arnall, 64, of Granby, ran off the road and struck a tree. Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin pronounced Arnall dead at the scene. Arnall was not wearing a seat belt...

As the Christmas shopping season picks up steam, work crews contracted through Dierker Construction have put finishing touches on the three buildings housing Bruner Pharmacy, from 319, 321 and 323 E. Broadway in Monett. Owner John Bruner said he would like to reopen his sidewalk for the December shopping crowd. September, October 2013 jobs report shows gains

Missouri's unemployment rate fell sharply in both September and October, according to data released by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Jobless numbers for Barry and Lawrence counties have hit their lowest totals since August. The rate fell to 6.9 percent in September and then again in October to 6.5 percent, the lowest unemployment rate for the state since September 2008. This is the 50th consecutive month that Missouri's rate was lower than the national unemployment rate...
