Nola Alleace Mourglia, age 99, a lifelong resident in Monett, died on April 1, 2013 at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. Alleace was born on July 13, 1913, the twin of Ola Berniece, to George and Charlotte (White) Williams, of Texas City, Texas. Alleace married Eugene "Moge" Mourglia on March 2, 1946. Two Monett teens were injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:50 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, on Business Highway 60 at Route W, about three miles east of Monett. Sales tax totals for bi-county area continue to slide

Sales tax revenue in bi-county cities and counties, dropped for the seventh time in the last nine months, compared to a year ago. Receipts in March declined 14 percent from a year ago, with only two recipients marking gains. Monett's two sales taxes for general expenses, totaling one cent, generated $159,285.88 in March, the second largest sum in four years but down $25,504.55 from last March...

Historic District proposal receives warm reception
