Verona School District secures savings in refinancing (12/19/12)
The Verona R-7 School District approved refinancing of the district's outstanding debt from building the high school during the Board of Education's November meeting. With the assistance of the L.J. Hart and Company investment banking firm, the board refinanced its Series 2008 lease certificates of participation. The remaining $785,000 was sold at an average interest rate of 1.81 percent, compared to an average rate of 4.44 percent on the callable portion of the certificates...
Crowder Quill accepting entries (12/19/12)
Crowder College's art and literary magazine, "The Crowder Quill," is now accepting entries for its 2013 publication. A new online submission process and new art categories and scholarships have been unveiled for this year's contest.
