Fatal fire investigation concludes (11/30/12)
The Thanksgiving fire in Wheaton that killed five people has been ruled accidental following an extensive on-scene investigation by the State Fire Marshal and the Barry County Sheriff's Office. Sales tax shows Barry County gains in Nov. (11/30/12)
November brought an upswing in sales tax revenue to the bi-county area. Most of the gains were in Barry County, including a 27 percent increase for Monett. The two sales taxes that fund Monett's general fund generated $135,452.24 in November, up $28,979.55 from a year ago. It was the best November on record and the second consecutive month for gains compared to a year ago. Monett's four sales taxes yielded $51,043.08 more than last November...
