Monett City Council hears annexation proposal (10/26/12)
The Monett City Council received a request to annex most of the land covering the Industrial Machine and Engineering Company (IMEC) plant. Family Fair at EFCO (10/26/12)
EFCO, a Pella company, held a family fair on Oct. 13. The fair was held on the heels of employee appreciation week where employees were treated to steak dinners, T-shirts, and prizes. The fair was for EFCO employees and families. The Freistatt Village Board of Trustees became the first southwest Missouri government to formally endorse a U.S. Constitutional amendment stripping corporations of the rights held by individuals. Trustees voted after reviewing results of a community survey sent to 83 utilities customers. Nearly three-quarters of the people responded, but only half had an opinion about the amendment. An Ash Grove woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Lawrence County 1207 about one-half mile south of Highway 96. Prosecutor: Marionville fatal shooting justified (10/26/12)
Mt. VERNON, Mo. (AP) -- The Lawrence County prosecutor says a Marionville police officer was justified in the fatal shooting of a Springfield man in June. Reserve officer Danny Hughes killed 37-year-old Adam Bergseth on June 30.
