Views over running the recent community festival in Purdy and the city's future role in the undertaking was discussed at the August meeting of the Purdy City Council. David Mareth, one of the initial organizers, and Laura Hensley, one of the three co-chairpersons of the festival, addressed the council. An overnight stabbing in Monett is under investigation by law enforcement officials with the Monett Police Department. According to Monett Detective Dave Haskins officers received a call at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday from emergency personnel at Cox Monett Hospital reporting a man had been stabbed. Kiwanians hear about Asociacion Latina Imagen (09/14/12)

Poles begin rising for new lights at North Park (09/14/12)
Monett Electric Department crews began installing new lights at North Park this week, a joint project between the city, the Monett R-1 School District and the Monett Youth Baseball and Softball League.
