Aurora Fire Contained (07/31/12)
Ten area fire departments including Monett, Pierce City and Freistatt responded to a grass fire at the junction of Highway 60 and Farm Road 1200, one mile west of Aurora, on Monday. An estimated 300 were burned as firefighters battled the blaze for 24 hours. No structures were lost during the fire and the cause is still under investigation. [Times Photo by Jared Lankford]...

Proclamation issued in honor of Dale Burke (07/31/12)
Monett Mayor Jim Orr has issued a proclamation in honor of former municipal judge W. Dale Burke, who died on July 25. The flag at the Monett Justice Center will be flown at half staff for a week. The proclamation will be read publicly at 3:45 p.m. today, July 31, in Monett Municipal Court...
