Scholarships awarded to Verona graduates (06/06/12)
Scholarships for the graduates of Verona High School were announced during commencement exercises. Counselor Isaac Crawford presented several scholarships and introduced representatives from community groups giving local scholarships. Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that took place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday on Interstate 44 about three miles west of Stotts City. Larry Purdom, a dairy farmer from Purdy, has been re-elected to serve on the board of directors for Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. Purdom will represent the cooperative's southeast area for a three-year term.
