Meth lab seizures continue in 2012 (03/02/12)
In Barry County for 2012, agents with the Southwest Missouri Drug Task Force have already made 17 arrests for illegal drug use. A total of 11 involved meth labs. Agents are currently working 27 new cases in the first eight weeks on the new year. In Lawrence County, Lyle has seized six meth labs and arrested 10 people for possession of methamphetamine...
Next week offers perfect time to prepare for severe weather (03/02/12)
Mother Nature has already taken the opportunity to remind area residents of the perils of severe weather, just in time for Severe Weather Awareness Week, taking place March 12 through March 16. On Monday, citizens are asked to develop a preparedness plan by identifying the weather hazards in the area. A Stark reminder of sacrifice (03/02/12)
Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary of the death of Army Specialist Christopher Glenn Stark who was killed in action in COP Tangi, Afghanistan, on Feb. 28, 2011. To honor Stark, a bench was placed at Monett's South Park. The monument memorializing Stark's sacrifice was dedicated in a special ceremony at the park on Tuesday afternoon.
