Services increase at Monett BCHD office (01/26/12)
The Barry County Health Department offered around 2 percent more services to area residents in 2011 than were offered in 2010. The county health department board of trustees reviewed the service counts during its monthly meeting on Jan. 19. The total number of services increased by 489 from 21,445 in 2010 to 21,934 in 2011. Although the number of services offered at the Monett office increased significantly, the number of services offered at the Cassville office decreased by nearly 1.5 percent...

Officers seize K2 at Miller residence (01/26/12)
Drugs, including synthetic marijuana known as K2, were seized at a home in Miller following a multi-agency investigation last week. Area community members are invited to view a collection of fancy vintage needlework pieces during the Wheaton Historical Society's Snowflake Tea on Saturday, Jan. 28.
