SWACC food drive a success (12/21/11)
Thousands of cans of food were collected by students at the Southwest Area Career Center (SWACC) in Monett who participated in their sixth annual Christmas canned goods drive. Patrol is seeking fatal crash information (12/21/11)
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is seeking assistance from the public to solve a fatal crash involving a pedestrian. The crash occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 when Tommy G. Rickman, 44, of Purdy, was struck by the driver of a black pickup truck as he was walking on Business Highway 37 about two miles north of Cassville. Rickman was later pronounced dead at St. John's Hospital-Cassville...
Scam reports are keeping police in Purdy very busy (12/21/11)
In the two months since Purdy aldermen last met in regular session, Purdy Police Chief Jackie Lowe has received a rash of reports concerning Internet scams, mail fraud and financial abuse of a senior citizen. LC deputies take down meth labs (12/21/11)
The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department had a busy day on Thursday when they took down three meth labs and seized a storage container filled with meth, marijuana, narcotics, meth precursors and several different types of drug paraphernalia.
