United Fund drive underway in Monett area (10/31/11)
The Barry-Lawrence Area United Fund begins its annual drive this week. Board members are hoping for strong community support in light of rising demands and declining donations. In the past year, the United Fund provided support for 20 area service organizations. Four are hurt in crashes (10/31/11)
An Aurora man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash on Saturday morning on Highway ZZ two miles west of Marionville. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cody A. Price, 21, was seriously hurt after his 2003 Kia struck a mailbox and ditch and overturned. Price, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. Verona council members move ahead on nuisance enforcement (10/31/11)
Members of the Verona City Council have stepped up enforcement of a number of ordinance violations taking place in the city. That decision came during the council's regular October meeting. Monett's Chris Renteria won the Class 3 District 6 boys crown on Saturday, holding on to beat Republic's Ryan Way, 17:10 to 17:11.
