Monett woman hurt in wreck near Halltown (09/28/11)
A Monett woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 three miles west of Halltown yesterday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 10:35 a.m. when the driver of a 2009 Freightliner, Donald G. Forrest, 54, of Inkster, Mich., crossed the centerline and was struck by a 2004 Dodge Durango, driven by Misty R. Mayne, 34, of Monett. Monett firefighters receive new bunker gear (09/28/11)
Twenty-three new sets of bunker gear have arrived for the Monett Fire Department. The new equipment is enough for all the full-time firefighters and the volunteers. According to Fire Chief Tom Jones, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has set a standard that bunker gear should be used no more than 10 years.
