Cassville death ruled as murder (08/26/11)
Second degree murder charges were filed yesterday afternoon against a 40-year-old Barry County man in the death of Vicki L. Clark, 43, of Cassville. Jimmy Joe Nelson, 40, of Cassville, was arrested without incident yesterday at a Barry County residence and is being held in the Barry County Jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond. Monett rental business under new leadership (08/26/11)
"This isn't business as normal anymore," said Sharon Ridenour at last week's meeting of the Monett City Council. Ridenour is now managing Horton Rentals. Started by her father, the late Junior Horton, around 1970, the business is still owned by Horton's widow, Shirley. This has not been a good year for the corn crop. "There have been a lot of dashed hopes this year," said Tim Schnakenberg, agronomist with the University of Missouri Extension service.
