Narcotics officer is very busy (08/08/11)
Thanks to a MoSMART grant, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office is able to employ a full-time narcotics officer who, according to recently released statistics, has been busy for the first six months of 2011. Lawrence County Sheriff Brad DeLay said the department's narcotics officer is devoted to working specifically on the area's growing methamphetamine problem and he has been highly successful...

Howdy Neighbor Days begins Wednesday (08/08/11)

A Monett teenager was one of two people hurt in a single car crash at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday on Highway W near Wheaton. Valerie Rey, 16, was a passenger in an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Kassie Pointer, 17, of Neosho. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pointer ran off the roadway and the car overturned...
