R-1 Board commits funds preparing for new year (06/03/11)

One of the casualties of the May 22 tornadoes crossing southwest Missouri was the landmark barn on Barry and Gina Merritt's farm near the Newton County line, north of Highway 37. The barn was over 100 years old and had undergone a restoration in 2006. The Merritts were not home at the time of the storm. A Purdy man is dead following a single-vehicle crash at 2 a.m. on Wednesday. The wreck occurred on Highway HH five miles west of Fairview. Shannon D. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has partnered with the University of Missouri to conduct a largemouth bass study on Table Rock Lake.
