Area scouting program described for Kiwanians (05/12/11)
Details about the Boy Scout program in Monett were shared by Scoutmaster John Funk at last week's meeting of the Monett Kiwanis Club. Funk said he joined Scouts at age 14 and has been a Scouting leader for 10 years. He has served as scoutmaster for Troop #38 for the past two years. He had worked toward his Eagle Scout badge but had to enter the workforce before he completed it. The Fairview Antique Car Club brought vehicles to Lacoba Homes in Monett on Monday in a mini-show for the residents. According to club member Jesse Cooper, this is the fourth year that the club has brought vehicles to the nursing facility.
