Clues sought in disappearance of Willard couple (04/22/11)
Fliers were being distributed around Monett yesterday to help find a Willard couple that disappeared on Sunday. Monett contractor Jim Hufft is distributing fliers about his sister, Rebecca Porter, 46, and her husband, Russell "Rusty" Porter, 34, who live east of Willard in the 6700 block of North Highway HH. Rebecca Porter had a phone conversation with her daughter, Jessica Bullick, on Sunday morning, which was the last known contact. Her brother, Darrell, had visited her on Saturday...
Library funding holding steady (04/22/11)
Positive financial news greeted members of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library Board of Directors during their April meeting. Director Jean Berg reported state funding appears to be holding steady for the coming year. The Missouri state budget had $3.6 million listed for State Aid and Equalization, the same as in 2010 though 10 percent less than 2009. Funds for internet service through MOREnet also stayed at the 2010 level...

The Monett Cubs golf team took third place at the 14-team Carthage Invitational on Wednesday. Carthage was first, shooting 315. Olathe was second, recording a 319, and Monett shot a 337, which was good for third. "Jacob Fair had a great day of golf," said Monett Head Coach Derrek Uhl.
