R-1 board focuses on financial future (01/27/11)
The Monett R-1 Board of Education reviewed the school district's financial picture in light of Governor Jay Nixon's budget proposal during the January board meeting. "The good news for K-12 (kindergarten through high school) education is the governor is asking the legislature to approve level funding for education," said Superintendent Dr. John Jungmann. MMS Cubs drop pair to Carl Junction (01/27/11)
The Monett Middle School seventh grade Cubs fell 42-37 in overtime to Carl Junction Monday night. Area road runners are anxiously awaiting the beginning of the 2011 season. There are always a few random races in January for the weather-resistant crowd, but for most southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas runners, the official racing year begins with the classic Polar Bear Races at Bolivar in early February.
