Woods will step down (12/15/10)
If he were known to wear a robe, Judge Carr Woods would be hanging up that garment on Dec. 31. Woods plans to retire from his 39th Judicial Associate Circuit judge position at the end of this year. Purdy overcomes 13-point deficit for win (12/15/10)
The Purdy basketball team overcame a 13-point first half deficit in a 72-67 victory over the Southwest Trojans Tuesday night. "Southwest is a good team," said Purdy Head Coach Tommy Egan. PCHS loses coach, friend (12/15/10)
On Monday, Dec. 13 the Pierce City community lost an iconic and influential man Doug Weatherly touched, shaped and molded the minds and hearts of young men and women in the Pierce City school system for 22 years. Doug was one of the first acquaintances I made when I took the sport editor's position at The Monett Times. His personality was one that made him instantly likeable to those he met, incredibly motivational to those he coached and forever endearing to those he loved...
