Verona aldermen hired a new fire chief for the city at their regular meeting on Oct. 26. Tony Hinkle will take the helm at the Verona Fire Department with new volunteer Mitchell Jenkins joining the existing ranks of firefighters. Monett Cubs end football season on high note (10/29/10)
Putting 29 points on the board in the pivotal second quarter, the visiting Monett Cubs closed out the 2010 football campaign with a convincing 42-7 triumph over the East Newton Patriots in a Big 8 Conference and Class 3 district game.
