Monett City Council talks about code changes (09/23/10)
The Monett City Council introduced new regulations during its September monthly meeting on Monday. Two ordinances were introduced on plumbing licenses. One established a high surety bond for working around city utilities. Other ordinances require companies to repair city streets from cuts made to repair water or sewer lines. Building Superintendent Wade Ennes requested a bond of $5,000, up from $1,000, to cover current costs for damaging water or sewer mains while digging...

A San Francisco, Calif., woman spent the night in the Monett Jail awaiting charges in Barry County for attempting to use a fraudulent credit card at a Monett bank yesterday. The suspect, whose name has not been released pending the filing of formal charges, entered the Bank of America branch in Monett around 1:40 p.m. yesterday and presented a driver's license that was determined to be fraudulent. Verona R-7 Board looks at recent construction (09/23/10)
Progress on construction at Verona High School was viewed by members of the R-7 Board of Education during their September meeting. The board toured the new locker room addition, which has two athletic and two physical education locker rooms.
