Stones Prairie picnic is Friday

The annual community picnic at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stones Prairie, northwest of Purdy, will be held on Friday, July 16 beginning will begin at 6 p.m. According to a church spokesman, the annual event typically draws more than 1,000 people on a clear day. After rescuing Summer from the Highway EE Conservation Area, we cared for the young female black labrador from June 21 to July 5. You couldn't ask for a better dog. Unfortunately, our schedules and tiny yard forced us to realize that it was in Summer's best interests to place her with a family that could better care for her and give her the attention she deserves... -
Carnival is coming to Monett

The Monet Jaycees Carnival, one of the high points of the summer for Monett area young people, will be held this year July 21 through July 24 at the South Park soccer fields. Monett football camps planned

Football camps for Monett High School, Monett Middle School and the Mighty Mite program will get underway soon, according to Chad Dupee, new head coach for the Monett Cubs. Football camp for high school students will run July 19 through July 23 and again from July 26 through July 30 from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Cost is $40.
