Law Co adopts $4.5 million budget for 2010 (02/03/10)
The Lawrence County Commission adopted the county's budget for 2010, which reflects $4.3 million in projected revenue and $4.5 million in anticipated expenditures that will leave the county with a deficit at the end of next year. Sales tax numbers take dip in January (02/03/10)
Sales tax revenues for the bi-county area reversed the growing improvement seen in November and December for a noted retreat in January. Total income collected by bi-county cities and counties was down 8 percent from a year ago. Monett's two sales taxes for the general fund generated $149,338.59 in January, down 5 percent from a year ago. The total broke a two-month rebound after a nine-month slide against the previous year...
Strong half leads to Cubs victory (02/03/10)
The Cubs were able to overcome foul trouble in the second quarter to pull out a hard-fought 63-54 win over Diamond last night. MHS wrestlers lost to state-ranked Bolivar (02/03/10)
The Monett Cubs wrestling team fell to state-ranked Bolivar last night. The Cubs earned 29 points in the dual meet, winning five matches. Verona girls hand Purdy Lady Eagles first Ozark 7 loss (02/03/10)
The Verona Lady Wildcats' 61-56 home victory over Purdy last night was a big one. The win leveled the Ozark 7 Conference race for Purdy, Verona and the Exeter Lady Tigers. All three now have one conference loss apiece, and whether one team will prevail or all three will wind up as tri-champions is anyone's guess...
