Monett-based Guard embarks on new mission (01/18/10)
Two weekends ago the National Guard company based at the Armory in Monett underwent training for their new mission. According to Company Commander Sergeant Steve White, the new role has given a renewed sense of value to the soldiers. Airport activity dropped at end of 2009 (01/18/10)
Activity at the Monett Municipal Airport saw an increased use by local businesses but a significant drop in receational flights in the final quarter of 2009. The end result was the lowest annual total for take-offs and landings in four years. Airport employees track take-offs and landings during weekday business hours. Hundreds of dogs impounded in 2009 (01/18/10)
The 2009 animal control report has been announced by Monett Chief of Police Tim Schweder as calculated by Animal Control Officer Alicia Graves. For the year, Graves reported impounding over 200 dogs and handling over 100 nuisances.
