B-L Library Receives Clean Annual Audit (11/30/09)
The 2008-09 audit of the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library was reviewed and accepted at the November meeting of the Board of Trustees. Patti Weber, of The CPA Group of Monet, indicated the audit was clean and without problems. The audit showed use of the library branches has increased considerably over the prior year. Sales tax totals show economy is improving (11/30/09)
Sales tax receipts to bi-county governments in November showed a number of signs of an improving economy. Though receipts were generally lower than a year ago, the difference with last November was slight compared to most months this year. Monett's sales tax surpassed what was received a year ago for the first time since February.
