Mighty Mites keep kids active, draw crowds to Monett (10/19/09)
Saturday morning was cool with intermittent showers in Monett. There were few cars downtown and even fewer people at the YMCA. Burl Fowler Stadium, on the other hand, was a beehive of activity. It was second and third place play-off day for the Mighty Mites football program and from morning into the late afternoon, hundreds of people came and went, watching and cheering small boys and young cheerleaders excelling at their game...

The Monett Lady Cubs took fourth place Saturday in the prestigious Ozark Grand Slam volleyball tournament. A total of 12 teams competed in the three-pool event. PCHS Eagles Dominate Stockton, 41-14 (10/19/09)
Racking up their biggest yardage total of the season, the Pierce City Eagles raised their record to 5-3 on Friday, beating the Stockton Tigers 41-14 in Pierce City.
