Murderer receives sentence (09/30/09)
A Republic man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for stabbing his ex-wife to death on March 12 in Marionville. Robert E. Duda, Sr. was sentended on Sept. 14 to 22 years in prison for the second degree murder of Kathy Duda. The sentencing was handed down by 39th District Circuit Judge Robert Wiley. Arc of the Ozarks office dedicated in Monett (09/30/09)
Dedication ceremonies were held last week for the new Arc of the Ozarks office building in Monett. The agency that serves developmentally disabled individuals in Barry and Lawrence counties its new permanent facility by unveiling a stone marker. The Arc of the Ozarks purchased the former Smart Start daycare center facility at 1010 Old Airport Road in March. In July staff moved in after the facility was remodeled.
