Pierce City police, water departments report busy month to city council members (09/18/09)
At the September meeting of the Pierce City City Council, officials reported on a variety of activities that took place during the previous month. Police Chief Mike Abramovitz reported his officers responded to 17 incidents during the month. Two arrests were made on out-of-town warrants. Jacob Meadors was arrested on Aug. 7 on warrants from Monett, Barry County and Newton County. John Aust, Jr. was also arrested on Aug. 7 on a warrant from Atchison County...

Pierce City Man Killed In Wreck (09/18/09)
A Pierce City man was killed in a one-vehicle crash today at 12:40 a.m. four miles south of Aurora on Highway Z in Barry County. Brian Collins, 36, was killed in the wreck, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Jim Fohn.
