Monett native John McGee has been named the top sports columnist in the state of Arkansas by the Arkansas Press Association at their annual convention recently. A 1971 graduate of Monett High School, McGee won the honor in competition with other weekly newspapers in the state. On Saturday, Aug 29, the Monett Chamber of Commerce will join eight other area chambers in hosting a 100-mile yard sale. The yard sales will stretch from Ash Grove to Branson West along a 100-mile-long route.
