Monett TIF is seeking additional tax revenue from counties (06/23/09)
Monett's Tax Increment Financing (TIF) program appears to be headed toward a collision course with county officials over funding. Details surfaced last week at the TIF Commission's quarterly meeting. Attorney Carl Yates and City Administrator Dennis Pyle explained that based on three different court rulings, it appears that TIFs, unlike other taxes, have been authorized by the State Legislature to capture a portion of taxes enacted prior to the TIF coming into existence, as well as taxes passed later.. ...

Three sections of land were annexed to the city limits of Verona as a result of action taken by the Verona City Council at the June meeting.
