Relay for Life teams raise over $90,000 (05/04/09)
The 13th annual Relay for Life, a community fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, took place Friday night and Saturday morning in the E.E. Camp Gymnasium at Monett Middle School. It was the first time the event had moved indoors, due to persistent rain and temperatures in the 50s by the time the event began. In the Big 8 Conference golf meet last Thursday at Cassville, the Monett Cubs tied for second place overall. Monett and Mt. Vernon each had a team score of 350 for second place. Cassville won the Big 8 championship with a score of 335. Seneca was fourth with a score of 378. Carl Junction finished fifth with a score of 388. Aurora was sixth with a score of 400.
