School, water park among Lawrence County issues on Tuesday Ballot (04/02/09)
School and municipal bond issues as well as continuation of road district property tax levels are on the ballot for voters in Lawrence County on Tuesday. Pierce City school Voters in the Pierce City R-6 School District will be asked to pass two funding measures to pay for construction of a new high school building. The proposal would commit the district's bonding capacity to near its limit and add a full rollback of the statewide Proposition C sales tax which reduces property tax payments...
Healthcare outlets offer 'stop smoking' help (04/02/09)

Wheaton voters to decide bond issue (04/02/09)
A Wheaton school bond issue tops the list of Barry County election issues this April. Voters in Wheaton will be deciding a $1,136,258 bond issue that would be used to fund water system improvements. The proposed plan will include construction of a 100,000-gallon standpipe that would double the city's current water storage capacity of 95,000 gallons. The city is currently served by a 75,000-gallon water tower and a 20,000-gallon water tower...

She was a 1962 graduate of Ponca City High School and a 1968 graduate of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. She worked for the Social Security Administration in Ponca City for 27 years.
